JOTS is recognized by the Texas Workforce Commission as a certified provider of Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS), designed to assist high school students with disabilities, along with their families, educational institutions, and community service providers. Pre-ETS is aimed at supporting students and young individuals aged 14 to 21 in planning and preparing for their future careers.
Whether you are currently in high school or have recently graduated, this service is designed to give you a head start in exploring career paths and preparing for the transition into adulthood. The services are customized to meet your specific goals and provide the necessary support, taking into account your personal experiences, any mental health challenges and their impacts, your work history (if applicable), and your current skills and strengths.

About Us
John’s professional odyssey has been defined by his fervent dedication to career development and his invaluable contributions to various community services. Beginning his career journey with a pivotal apprenticeship as a Workforce Development Professional at Workforce Solutions of Central Texas, John acquired a badge of distinction accredited by the U.S. Department of Labor. This experience not only bolstered his expertise but also poignantly equipped him with the skills necessary to effectively work with students involved in PRE-ETS (Pre-Employment Transition Services), where nurturing young aspirations is key.
Before embarking on this defining phase, John accumulated a wealth of experience across divergent

sectors, including social services and criminal justice, illustrating his adaptable proficiencies and zealous commitment to fostering community well-being. He played an instrumental role for over half a decade with youth development initiatives at Communities in Schools and Woodrow Wilson Middle School, forging his adeptness in guiding youth toward their potential.
John’s journey through the juvenile services domain is marked by his tenure as a Detention Officer and his subsequent involvement with the Jefferson County Juvenile Probation Department. These roles honed his insight into the challenges and responsibilities involved in juvenile care and guidance, strengthening his resolve to support the young and vulnerable in our society.
Extending his reach further, John invested eight years in adult reintegration while with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Parole Division, where he immersed himself in the multifaceted workings of the criminal justice system. Here, he gleaned a comprehensive understanding that informed his approach to adult support and reentry programs, recognizing the complex tapestry of rehabilitation and societal reintegration.
Spotlighting his entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to service, John established JRL Contract Social Services, pivoting his focus toward sectors defined by acute need. This venture underscored his commitment to nurturing the wellbeing of diverse populations, including expectant mothers facing high-risk pregnancies, children with disabilities in need of specialized care, and seniors requiring attentive home healthcare services.
In his capacity as a Workforce Specialist and Career Counselor, John refined an already diverse skill set, helping the unemployed and individuals in career transition reshape their professional narratives. His comprehensive support and tailored approaches have aided many in rediscovering their vocational paths and aspirations.
